DHAKA, Nov 1, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh captain Liton Das believes that the consistent cricket has taken a toll on the players, a thing that made them fatigued and exhausted.
His comment came right after Bangladesh suffered a humiliating 3-0 whitewash at the hands of West Indies in three-match T20 series.
Speaking to the media after the third and final match, which they lost by five wickets, Liton said the players have been playing T20 cricket consistently for the last two and half months, which made them tired.
“These players have been playing T20 cricket consistently for the two and half months and so fatigue sets in, which is very natural,” Liton said. “There is no denying fact that they are trying to give their 100 percent but nothing goes in right direction.”
Bangladesh played Asia Cup T20 tournament followed by Afghanistan series—consisted with three ODIs and three T20 International. After that they played a home series against West Indies, which also had three ODIs and as many T20Is. There was no break for them in this period.
Liton believes a break is imperative and it will help them get refreshed ahead of the three-match T20 series against Ireland.
“Sometimes a break is important. I believe we'll return refreshed and things will get better after the break,” he said.
The Bangladesh T20 team however will get a long break ahead of the Ireland series. In the meantime, the Test team will play two-match Test series against the same team.
