DHAKA, Oct 14, 2025 (BSS)- Amid the Bangladesh Women's team's substandard
performance in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup, some players progressed in
the updated ICC players' rankings.
Fahima Khatun, Rabeya Akter and Sobhana Mostari were amongst the gainers.
Sobhana Mostari got the reward of her fine fifty against England in
Bangladesh's second match. The Tigresses even could have won the game had
luck supported them to some extent.
Mostari's 50 against England was his first in his ODI career, which helped
her leapfrog 15 places to sit at 70 in the rankings.
Fahima has also improved in the rankings of women's ODI batters. She has
moved up seven places to 92nd at this moment. The leg-spinning all-rounder
has also gained in bowling by moving up 18 places to 27th.
Among the bowlers, another leg-spinner Rabeya Khan has moved up three places
to sit at 18th.
Both Fahima and Rabeya have improved in the rankings of ODI all-rounders.
Rabeya has moved up 23 places to 26th and Fahima is next to her.
Nahida Akhtar is at the top of the rankings among Bangladesh bowlers. The
left-arm spinner is now at 11th place, even though she lost two places
following her below par performance against New Zealand and South Africa.
Marufa Akter bowled brilliantly in her first match of the World Cup, which
was reflected in her rankings as she improved considerably.
However, she lost four places this week after failing to live up to the
expectation in the next two matches. The pacer is now joint 45th in the
bowling rankings.
