DHAKA, June 4, 2025 (BSS)- Bangladesh openers-- Taznid Hasan Tamim and Parvez
Hossain Emon-- who were the only shining spot in the side's disastrous
campaign against Pakistan, got the reward of their performance by achieving
their career-best rankings.
Taznid, who top-scored for Bangladesh in the three-match series amid the
side's ignominious whitewash, has moved up 28 places to reach 53rd position.
It was his highest ranking in his career. Emon also leapfrogged 28 places to
break into the top 100 for the first time. He is in 95th place at this
moment.
Emon was off colour in his first two matches against Pakistan, scoring just 4
and 8 runs but in the third game, he smashed a 34 ball-66 as Bangladesh
compiled a respectable 196-6. Still they lost the game with Pakistan
clinching the victory with 14 balls to spare.
Tanzid didn't get any half-century but he was consistent, scoring 31, 33 and
42 runs respectively in three matches to finish with 106 runs.
On the other hand, Pakistan's Mohammad Haris has received a great reward for
his excellent performance against Bangladesh. He has made a huge leap in the
latest ICC men's rankings update today, jumping 210 places to 30th in the T20
batting rankings.
Haris, who won the Man of the Series award, played a whirlwind 107 not out
off just 46 balls in the third T20, which played a key role in Pakistan's 3-0
series win. He was the highest run-scorer in the series with 167 runs at a
strike rate of 201.12. He also made rapid 41 and 31 runs in the first two
matches.
His teammate Hasan Nawaz also had a great series, scoring 121 runs at a
strike rate of 198.36 and moving up 57 places to join 45th in the T20 batting
rankings. Captain Salman Ali Agha has moved up 42 places to 75th.
In bowling, Pakistan's Abbas Afridi has moved up 18 places to join 19th after
taking two for 26 in the last match. Allrounder Shadab Khan has moved up 10
places to 14th in the T20 all-rounder rankings thanks to a good performance
with bat and ball.
