DHAKA, May 26, 2025 (BSS)- Veteran Bangladesh Cricketer Mushfiqur Rahim
completed his 20-year journey in International cricket, a feat that he
savoured with a heartfelt message today.
"Alhamdulillah! 20 years of international cricket," Mushfiqur Rahim wrote in
his verified facebook account with a collage of his career.
Two decades ago on May 26, Mushfiqur made a debut in International cricket
for Bangladesh. In 20 years, he showed resilience and steely resolve in all
formats of cricket to keep Bangladesh cricket going.
He is considered as one of the pillars of Bangladesh cricket because of his
dedication and superb performance that made the team a giant in world
cricket.
Just at the age of 18, Musfiqur made debut at the Iconic Lord's Cricket
Ground. He was, however, the surprise inclusion in Bangladesh's squad for
their maiden tour of England in 2005.
Since then he remained the epitome of success, giving Bangladesh many
occasions to exalt.
The seasoned campaigner is now playing just Test format for Bangladesh,
having retired from the ODIs this year and T20Is in 2022.
He of late has seen the dip in form but that couldn't take the gloss from
what he had already achieved.
Mushfiqur is now just shy of four matches to become the first Bangladeshi
cricketer to play 100 Tests: a milestone that certainly would inscribe his
name in national cricketing folklore.
