DHAKA, May 17, 2025 (BSS)- Motivated Bangladesh U-19 national football team
looking forward to retain the title as they face host India in big final of
the seventh edition SAFF U-19 championship scheduled to be held at Golden
Jubilee Stadium, Arunachal Pradesh in India tomorrow (Sunday).
The match will be streamed live on Sportzworkz YouTube channel at 7.30 pm
Bangladesh time.
Addressing at a pre-final press conference today (Saturday), Bangladesh team
Captain Nazmul Huda Faisal said: "Excitement always works before the final,
both the teams want to win the trophy, we have come here to fulfill our goal
and hope we'll back to home after fulfilling our expectation."
Respecting India, the Bangladesh Captain said India is undoubtedly strong
side but his team is not considering it as challenge to face India rather his
steam are concentrating to fulfill their goal giving their hundred percent
efforts in the final match.
Bangladesh U-19 national football team head coach Golam Robbani Chaton said
the boys have played good football throughout the tournament and learned a
lot and they are more confident than before and fully prepared to play the
final match.
India team head coach Bibiano Fernandes said: "Bangladesh has shown their
character in the semifinal beating Nepal, we respect them and also preparing
ourselves to get ready, upbeat to give best efforts in the final match."
India team key player Singamayum Shami said they are fully prepared for the
final and give their best to win the trophy.
Earlier, the boys in red and green played out to a 2-2 with Maldives in their
opening group match but they blanked Bhutan 3-0 in the second match to emerge
as group A champions.
The boys in red and green confirmed their final spot beating Nepal by 2-1
goals in the exciting first semifinal match.
India also maintained their all win run in the tournament thrashing Sri Lanka
8-0 and Nepal 4-0 in the group stage.
The hosts ensured the final defeating Maldives 3-0 in the second semis.
