DHAKA, Sept 1, 2026 (BSS) - BNP Standing Committee member and lawmaker Amanullah Aman today said that Almighty Allah and the people of the country have brought BNP to power as recognition of the immense sacrifices and relentless efforts of leaders and activists during their long movement and struggle.

He was speaking as the chief guest at a tree-planting and fish-fry release event, organized by the upazila administration, on the occasion of the 48th founding anniversary of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).

Amanullah said, "After returning to the country following an 18-year-long exile, the people of Bangladesh spontaneously embraced Tarique Rahman through votes and elected him as Prime Minister. The main reason behind this love from the people is the sacrifice of our leaders and activists. The leaders and activists have proven in the past, are proving in the present, and will prove in the future that they are ready to make any sacrifice for the party."

Recalling BNP Chairman and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's long-standing philosophy of self-reliance, Amanullah Aman said, "About 25-26 years ago, when he was the Senior Joint Secretary General of BNP, I traveled with him to remote areas of the country. At that time, he had given the slogan 'One initiative, one effort will bring prosperity, self-reliance will come to the country.' The seed of self-reliance that he sowed by traveling from village to village and distributing ducks, chickens, cows, goats, and seeds among helpless people is now reaching fruition. The current government is advancing on the principle that if one family becomes self-sufficient, the entire country will be self-sufficient."
