DHAKA, Aug 31, 2026 (BSS) - Police arrested 39 people in separate anti-crime drives conducted in Khilkhet, Jatrabari, Turag and Bangshal areas of the capital over the past 24 hours.

According to a Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) press release, Khilkhet Police Station arrested 14 people, while Jatrabari Police Station arrested 13 during special drives in crime-prone areas.

Turag Police Station arrested nine people and Bangshal Police Station arrested three others in similar operations.

Police said the detainees were involved in various criminal activities. 

The drives were conducted as part of the DMP's ongoing efforts to maintain law and order in the capital.

Legal action against the arrested persons is underway.
