DHAKA, Aug 25, 2026 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) today seized 138,000 yaba tablets concealed inside the chassis of a truck and arrested one person at a joint checkpost in Ramu, Cox's Bazar.

A press release issued this evening by the BGB said a team of Ramu Battalion (30 BGB), led by its deputy commander Major Md Ashikur Rahman, based on information intensified patrols and searches at Morichya Joint Checkpost around 4 am following intelligence information.

The BGB personnel stopped a suspicious truck and searched it after its driver denied carrying any illegal goods.

During the search, they recovered huge amount of yaba tablets from a specially modified compartment inside the truck's chassis and arrested one person in connection with the seizure.

Legal proceedings against the seized yaba and the detainee are underway, the release said.

Ramu Battalion Commander Lt Col Imrul Kayes Mehedi said such operations would continue to ensure border security.
