DHAKA, Aug 23, 2026 (BSS)- The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has instructed former 71 Television journalist Shakil Ahmed and his wife Farzana Rupa to submit separate statements of their assets.

ACC Public Relations Department Deputy Director Md Aktarul Islam disclosed the information to the journalists here today.

According to the ACC, the decision to seek separate wealth statements from Shakil Ahmed and his wife Farzana Rupa was taken following allegations against them. Separate orders and asset declaration forms were issued in their names.

Constable Md Jewel Mia was assigned to deliver the orders to their respective addresses. However, after failing to find them at their addresses, he returned the original forms and orders to the ACC.

The documents stated that it was subsequently learned that Shakil Ahmed had been arrested in Tejgaon Police Station case no. 2 (9) of 2024 and is currently detained at Kashimpur High Security Central Jail in Gazipur. 

His wife, Farzana Rupa, was arrested in Jatrabari Police Station case no-33 (9) of 2024 and is currently detained at Munshiganj District Jail.

In view of their detention, the ACC decided to issue the orders through the respective jail superintendents.

According to the ACC records, the order requiring Shakil Ahmed to submit his wealth statement will be served through the senior jail super of Kashimpur High Security Central Jail while the order for Farzana Rupa will be served through the jail super of Munshiganj District Jail.
