DHAKA, Aug 23, 2026 (BSS) - POS-based e-ticketing has been introduced for "Pink Buses", which is operating for women-only through on 14 buses of Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) in Dhaka, Chattogram and Bogura.

Shohoz Limited has introduced the e-ticketing service on the women-only buses, with the service formally launched recently at an event held at the Tejgaon BRTC Bus Depot, said a press release today.

Under the new system, women passengers can purchase e-tickets using POS machines on board the buses. The technology-enabled ticketing system is aimed at making the ticketing process more organised and transparent.

To ensure smooth operation of the service, Shohoz teams were present at the relevant BRTC depots and provided hands-on training to conductors of the women-only buses on operating the POS machines, issuing e-tickets and other necessary ticketing procedures.

The launch event was attended by Minister for Road Transport and Bridges, Railways and Shipping Shaikh Rabiul Alam, MP as the chief guest.

State Minister Habibur Rashid, Road Transport and Highways Division Secretary Dr Mohammad Ziaul Haque and Women and Children Affairs Secretary Yasmeen Parveen attended the event as special guests.

BRTC Chairman Abdul Latif Molla chaired the event where BRTC Senior officials were also present.

The e-ticketing service is now available on 14 women-only buses operating across Dhaka, Chattogram and Bogura.
