CHATTOGRAM, Aug 23, 2026 (BSS) - Traffic diversion will be implemented at the Karnaphuli Tunnel in Chattogram for six nights, six hours each night, for routine maintenance work.

During this time, vehicle movement will continue in a controlled manner, according to the Bangladesh Bridge Authority.

This information was shared today in a press release sent by Md. Masud Rana Sikder, Public Relations Officer of the Bangladesh Bridge Authority.

The release stated that from August 26 to 31 (Wednesday to Monday), vehicle movement through the Patenga-Anwara tube will continue in a controlled manner every night from 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM.

During this period, depending on the existing traffic load, passengers may need to wait between five and up to ten minutes at both ends of the tunnel.
