KHULNA, August 21, 2026 (BSS) – Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Administrator Nazrul Islam Manju today said the KCC has taken all possible measures to prevent dengue infection but the infection rate is still increasing.
He said KCC activities have been further intensified by dividing the city into red, yellow and orange zones based on the rate of infection.
Alongside conducting mobile courts, the KCC has decided to set up medical camps in densely populated areas, he added.
Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Administrator Nazrul Islam Manju made the remarks while inspected the ongoing crash programme in the city.
Aimed at strengthening mosquito control and cleanliness to prevent the spread of dengue in the city, the KCC administrator visited different areas of Ward No. 1 and 12 from the morning, including Maheshwarpasha Rana Field in Ward No. 1 and areas adjacent to Camp No. 1 Bihari Colony in Ward No. 12.
The KCC administrator urged city residents to play an active role in preventing mosquito breeding by keeping their houses and surrounding premises clean and removing stagnant water.
He called upon residents to remain vigilant so that mosquitoes cannot breed within the boundaries of their homes or establishments, saying individual awareness and public participation are essential to protect families and children from dengue.
KCC Chief Waste Management Officer Md Anisur Rahman, Executive Engineer Sheikh MdMasudKarim, Conservancy Officer Md Ohiduzzaman Khan, former councillor HM Abu Saleh and other local representatives and dignitaries were present during the inspection.
