DHAKA, Aug 19, 2026 (BSS) - The Traffic Mirpur Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), in collaboration with the Dhaka Electric Supply Company (DESCO), disconnected 25 illegal electricity connections and seized 70 batteries during a drive against unauthorised power connections used to charge battery-run rickshaws in different parts of the city.

The operation was conducted on Tuesday night in the Hajee Road, Dhaka Commerce College Road, Mirpur Zoo Road and Al-Kamal Housing areas, said DMP press release.

Members of the respective police stations and POM Force assisted in the operation.
