CHATTOGRAM, Aug 19, 2026 (BSS) - The 45th founding anniversary of Jatiyatabadi Swecchasebak Dal was observed in the port city today with a colourful rally and gathering organised by its Chattogram Metropolitan unit.

The rally began in the afternoon from the Jamiatul Falah Mosque field and paraded through several important city roads before ending at GEC Circle.

Nazimur Rahman, member secretary of Chattogram Metropolitan BNP addressed the pre-rally gathering as the chief guest.

He said Swecchasebak Dal is a disciplined organisation that played a leading role in the 17-year anti-fascist movement and struggle.

He called upon the organisation's leaders and activists to engage in a greater struggle to implement the 31-point charter of demands put forward by the Prime Minister Tarique Rahman for state building and reform.

The gathering was presided over by Metropolitan Swecchasebak Dal Convener Belayet Hossain Bulu and moderated by its Member Secretary Engr. Jamir Uddin Nahid. 

Israfil Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, a member of the BNP's central international affairs sub-committee addressed the gathering as the chief speaker.

Leaders and activists from the metropolitan, thana and ward units of Swecchasebak Dal joined the rally with banners, festoons, drums and cymbals.
