DHAKA, Aug 17, 2026 (BSS) - The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 58 people allegedly involved in various crimes during a 24-hour operation in different crime-prone areas under its Tejgaon Division.

According to a DMP press release, regular drives were conducted across the division over the past 24 hours, leading to the arrests.

Of those arrested, seven were from Tejgaon Police Station, six from Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station, 21 from Mohammadpur Police Station, 12 from Adabor Police Station, seven from Tejgaon Industrial Area Police Station and five from Hatirjheel Police Station.

Police said the arrested individuals were subsequently sent to the court.

The operation was part of the DMP's ongoing efforts to maintain law and order and curb criminal activities in the capital.
