Ctg top criminal David Emon granted 10-day remand

CHATTOGRAM, Aug 2, 2026 (BSS)- A court has granted a 10-day remand to the 
notorious criminal Mobarak Hossain, also known as David Emon, in two distinct 
murder and Arms Act cases linked to the Fatikchhari Police Station in the 
district. 

Simultaneously, a five-day remand has been sanctioned for his five 
accomplices who were apprehended in the arms case. 

The order was issued by Chattogram Senior Judicial Magistrate Motasim Billah 
following the remand hearing on Sunday [August 2]. 

According to Kazi Mohammad Tarek Aziz, the Additional Superintendent of 
Police for the Hathazari Circle, David Emon has received a five-day remand 
for the murder case of Fatikchhari Jamal and another five days for the Arms 
Act case.
 
Earlier on the night of July 29, Chattogram District Police, with the 
assistance of Jashore District Detective Branch (DB) of Police, executed a 
raid in the Jhumjhumpur area under Jashore Sadar Upazila, resulting in the 
arrest of six individuals, including David Emon while attempting to escape to 
India.
 
Authorities reported that on June 13, David Emon's whereabouts were 
pinpointed through the analysis of data, CCTV footage, and intelligence 
gathered during the investigation into the murder of Jubo Dal leader Maksudul 
Haque Chowdhury in the Pahartali region of Raojan. 

Subsequently, based on information provided by the apprehended suspects, a 
foreign-made pistol, two local LGs, and several domestic weapons were seized 
from an abandoned residence in the Manikpur area of Kanchannagar Union in 
Fatikchhari upazila during the early hours of July 30, as stated by the 
police.

Additionally, police indicated that Mobarak Hossain, alias David Emon, 
resides in the Kanchannagar area of Fatikchhari upazila and is a close 
associate of the prominent terrorist Sajjad Ali, also known as Boro Sajjad, 
who is currently abroad. 

He faces at least 15 charges across various police stations in Chattogram 
Metropolitan City and the district, encompassing murder, arms offenses, and 
extortion. 

Moreover, an investigation is ongoing regarding his potential involvement in 
multiple murders in Raozan, Rangunia, and Chattogram City.
