DHAKA, July 23, 2026 (BSS) - Science and Technology Secretary Md. Anwar Hossain today said the National Semiconductor Symposium & BEAR Summit 2026 will be held in Dhaka on July 25-26 as a significant step towards establishing Bangladesh as a globally connected semiconductor and deep-tech innovation hub.
He made the remarks at a press conference held at the Gulshan Club in the capital.
The two-day summit is being organised jointly by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Bangladesh Semiconductor Industry Association (BSIA) and the Silicon River Bangladesh programme.
The event will bring together government policymakers, top executives from the global semiconductor industry, researchers, entrepreneurs, university representatives, investors and Bangladeshi experts living abroad.
They are expected to play an important role in formulating Bangladesh's long-term semiconductor and deep-tech strategy.
Highlighting future plans and initiatives, the secretary said a National AI Institute is being established through joint collaboration among the government, industry and academia to advance artificial intelligence research and support policy formulation.
A BEAR Innovation Expo 2026 will also be held alongside the summit.
The expo will showcase innovations led by students and startup entrepreneurs in semiconductors, artificial intelligence, robotics, healthcare technology, intelligent systems and other deep-tech sectors.
A total of 35 exhibition stalls will be featured at the expo.
