DHAKA, July 23, 2026 (BSS) – The traffic division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) today filed 2,240 cases against vehicles for violating traffic rules in the capital.

The cases were filed as part of the DMP's regular enforcement campaign carried out on Wednesday (July 22) aimed at ensuring traffic discipline, reducing congestion and improving road safety across the city, according to a press release issued here today.

The DMP said such drives against traffic law violators will continue, urging motorists and pedestrians alike to comply with traffic regulations to help maintain order on the roads.

It said that the DMP traffic police dumped 476 motor vehicles and towed 292 vehicles during the campaign.

The drives were conducted as part of the DMP's ongoing efforts to enforce traffic laws and ensure discipline on the city's roads, the release said.
