DHAKA, July 22, 2026 (BSS) - The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 387 people in separate drives across the capital over the last 24 hours and filed 45 cases, according to a DMP press release issued today.

Among those arrested, 31 were held by Ramna Division, 26 by Lalbagh Division, 49 by Wari Division, 49 by Motijheel Division, 56 by Tejgaon Division, 93 by Mirpur Division, 34 by Gulshan Division, 41 by Uttara Division and eight by the Detective Branch (DB).

During the drives, police seized 11,850 yaba tablets, 47 kilograms of cannabis, four mobile phones, 10 sacks of polythene, an engine-powered van and Tk 10,000 in cash allegedly linked to drug trafficking.

The suspects were arrested during operations conducted in different police station areas across the capital, with the drives primarily targeting drug-related offences and other criminal activities.

Legal action against the arrestees is underway.
