DHAKA, July 1, 2026 (BSS) - The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 68 people in special drives conducted across different parts of the capital on Tuesday as part of its ongoing efforts to maintain law and order.

According to a DMP press release, those arrested include four alleged extortionists not listed in any official database, 34 individuals accused of involvement in terrorism, robbery, mugging and dacoity-related offences, and 30 suspected drug traffickers.

The police said the special drives were carried out throughout the day to ensure public safety and maintain normal law and order in the capital.

Legal proceedings against the arrested individuals are currently underway, while the DMP said such operations will continue in the interest of public security.
