DHAKA, May 24, 2026 (BSS): The Dhaka Board authorities have issued a show-cause notice to a teacher of Gopalganj district over allegations of irregularities in evaluating the SSC examination answer scripts.
The notice was signed by the board’s Controller of Examinations Prof. Jesmin Taslima Banu, board officials said here today.
According to the board sources, a video clip and still images recently circulated on the social media showing that the students evaluating answer scripts of the SSC English Second Paper examination (Subject Code-108).
The notice stated that preliminary investigations found the evidence supporting the allegations.
It further said that allowing anybody other than the chief examiner or assigned examiner including students or family members to evaluate or fill in examination answer scripts is a punishable offense.
The board officials said such actions have tarnished its image and created concern among the examinees.
In connection with the incident, Md. Saiful Islam, an assistant teacher of Aikdia Achhia High School at Muksudpur Upazila of Gopalganj district, has been asked to explain why departmental disciplinary action should not be taken against him.
He has been instructed to submit a written explanation within the stipulated time.
Copies of the notice have also been sent to the Ministry of Education, the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, the Deputy Commissioner of Gopalganj and other relevant offices.
