DHAKA, May 23, 2026 (BSS) - A total of 212 people, including members of juvenile gangs and individuals involved in various criminal activities were arrested in special drives conducted by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in the Mirpur and Tejgaon divisions of the capital.
  
The operations were carried out on Friday in different crime-prone areas as part of efforts to ensure public safety and curb narcotics, extortion, and terrorism.
  
According to police sources, 103 people were arrested in Mirpur Division, 66 in the Tejgaon Division, while another 43 were detained in a separate special drive conducted by Mirpur Model Police Station.
  
During the drives, police also recovered various types of narcotics and locally made weapons from the arrestees’ possession.
  
All the arrested individuals were sent to the concerned courts after legal procedures were completed.
