DHAKA, May 23, 2026 (BSS) – State Minister for Housing and Public Works Ahammad Sohel Monzoor today urged Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK) officials to work unitedly as a team to ensure proper services for city dwellers.

The state minister was speaking as the chief guest at a view exchange meeting with RAJUK officials, organized at the RAJUK Auditorium to review the overall activities of the agency's Development Control Wing.

RAJUK Chairman Engineer Md. Riyazul Islam presided over the meeting, which was also attended by RAJUK Members Sheikh Motiar Rahman, Mohammad Bashirul Haque Bhuiya, and Mohammad Zahirul Islam.

During the session, Monzoor listened to the opinions of the officials and provided strategic guidelines to resolve workplace challenges.

The meeting extensively discussed the core responsibilities of RAJUK’s Development Control Wing, which primarily focuses on ensuring planned urbanization across the capital. This wing manages critical regulatory activities, including building construction, land use and urban planning.

The session highlighted that the wing is tasked with reviewing and approving blueprints for residential, commercial and industrial buildings while ensuring compliance with the Master Plan and the Detailed Area Plan (DAP). Furthermore, it enforces the Bangladesh National Building Code (BNBC), conducts drives against unauthorized structures, monitors building heights, setbacks and Floor Area Ratio (FAR) and issues occupancy certificates upon successful construction reviews.
