DHAKA, May 22, 2026 (BSS) - Police have arrested 29 suspected criminals during a series of regular drives in the capital's Jatrabari area.

A press release by Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) media division said the arrests were made on Tuesday (May 21) through special raids conducted in different crime-prone areas under Jatrabari Police Station

The arrestees were involved in various criminal activities under the jurisdiction of Jatrabari Police Station. Police produced the arrested individuals before the court, the release added.

The arrested persons include Md Delwar, 33, Md Alamgir, 30, Arman, 25, Md Nazmul Hasan alias Rifat, 32, Md Amal Hossain alias Chanchal, 50, Md Siam Ahmed Sajal, 34, Md Jamal Hossain, 48, Md Sohag, 22, Md Khairul, 20, Zakaria, 28, Josna Begum, 45, Md Saidul Islam, 23, Ripon, 20, Monir Hossain, 55, Md Russell, 26, Md Hridoy, 25, Imtiaz, 21, Jewel Hossain, 38, Mukundo, 28, Md Ashikur Rahman, 35, Md Faruk, 30, Md Yunus, 54, Md Faisal, 29, Md Mehedi Hasan, 21, Md Ibrahim, 28, Md Shamim Hossain, 35, Md Shamim Khan, 45, Pavel Iqbal, 31, Kazi Shafifa Sultana, 41

Among the detainees, nine were shown in regular cases, three were arrested on warrants, and 17 were detained during mobile court operations, the release said.
