JASHORE, May 21, 2026 (BSS) – The Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) today held the Presidential Parade (Summer)-2026 at the Bangladesh Air Force Academy in Jashore, marking the commissioning of officers from the 88th BAFA Course, Direct Entry-2026A and SPSSC-2026A courses.
Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan attended the ceremony as the chief guest, inspected the parade and took salute at the academy parade ground. He later distributed medals and flying badges among the graduating officers.
Officer Cadet Tahsin Ahmed Qureshi received the prestigious ‘Sword of Honour’ for overall excellence in the 88th BAFA Course, while Officer Cadet Adnan Haque won the ‘Bir Shrestha Matiur Rahman Trophy’ for best performance in flying training. Officer Cadet Mohammad Anan Chowdhury secured both the ‘Commandant’s Trophy’ and the ‘Air Chief Marshal’s Trophy’ for achievements in general service and ground branch training respectively.
According to an ISPR (Inter Services Public Relations Directorate) release, Bir Uttam Sultan Mahmud was declared squadron champion of the summer term.
Addressing the parade, the Air Chief paid tribute to the martyrs of the Liberation War and members of Kilo Flight, saying the BAF has evolved into a modern and technologically advanced force through their sacrifices and dedication.
He said the BAF has been playing important roles in protecting national airspace, disaster response, rescue operations, humanitarian assistance and support to civil administration.
The Air Chief also highlighted the ongoing modernization of the force and urged the newly commissioned officers to uphold patriotism, discipline and professionalism.
A total of 41 officer cadets, including five women, were commissioned through the parade.
The ceremony also featured a flypast, aerobatic displays and para-jumping performances.
