DHAKA, May 21, 2026 (BSS)- International Day for Biological Diversity will be observed worldwide tomorrow (May 22) with the theme "Acting locally for global impact".
 
This UN-designated day calls for urgent action to halt biodiversity loss through local initiatives that contribute to global sustainability goals.

The day will be observed with plan to reverse biodiversity loss which depends on the strengthening local actions, commitment of communities, organisations, and governments working together.

This campaign also aims to instill a sense of urgency as only four years remains to meet both the short-term targets of the Global Biodiversity Framework and the SDGs.
