DHAKA, May 20, 2026 (BSS) - Turag Thana police today arrested three leaders of banned Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) from the area and seized two banners from their possession.

A team of Turag police, acting on a tip-off, conducted a raid in the Sector-15 area and arrested former vice-president of banned BCL central committee Shipon Shewjal ,43, BCL members Mizanur Rahman alias Nihaz Khan ,37 and Raihan Ali ,24.

The arrested BCL leaders are accused in various criminal cases filed with different police stations in the capital.

Police said the arrested persons, following instructions from their senior leaders, assembled there to commit serious crimes in the city and disrupt the existing law and order situation.

The arrested BCL leaders were sent to the court for further legal action.
