NATORE, May 19, 2026 (BSS) - State Minister for Social Welfare Farzana
Sharmin today said the government wants to make land services easier and more
accessible for citizens through automation.

"All land-related services are being brought under automation to ensure easy
access to services for citizens," she said while inaugurating a three-day
Land Service Fair at the Collectorate building premises here.

The fair is being organised by the Natore district administration with the
theme "People-friendly Automated Land Management: Secured Land, Prosperous
Future".

The state minister said the government has undertaken initiatives to
modernise the land management system in line with the demands of time.

"Citizen services are being simplified under this system. Service delivery
activities are being brought under automation to prevent irregularities and
delays," she said.

Farzana Sharmin said organising the land fair would help raise awareness and
enhance citizen engagement in land management services.

She said land disputes are undesirable in society and added that Legal Aid
Offices and village courts are working to resolve such disputes.

"It is possible to resolve land disputes easily through these government
institutions. The government is working to make all types of citizen services
more dynamic. We want to play a responsible role in increasing public
engagement in receiving government services," she added.

Deputy Commissioner Asma Shahin chaired the inaugural ceremony while
Superintendent of Police Mohammad Shariful Haque and Additional Deputy
Commissioner (Revenue) Asma Khatun, among others, spoke.

Earlier in the morning, a colourful procession led by Farzana Sharmin paraded
through important roads of the town from the Collectorate building premises.

Eight stalls at the fair are providing various land-related citizen services.
Public hearings have also been arranged at the fair venue to raise awareness
among citizens.

Online land development tax payment and mutation services are being provided
at the fair. Besides, seminars and quiz competitions on land-related issues
will be held during the three-day event.

Similar programmes have also been undertaken in the district's other six
upazilas.
