Ex-state minister Mizanur Rahman Sinha laid to rest in Munshiganj

MUNSHIGANJ, May 18, 2026 (BSS) - Former State Minister for Health and Family Welfare and Convener of BNP's Munshiganj district unit Mizanur Rahman Sinha was laid to rest today at his family graveyard in Dohari village under Kolma Union in Munshiganj.

After five separate funeral prayers held in Dhaka, his body was brought to his ancestral home in Louhajong Upazila of the district.

Following the Asr prayer, the main janaza was held at Kolma High School ground. He was later buried beside his parents' graves at the family graveyard.

The funeral was attended by parliament members Advocate Abdus Salam Azad and Md. Kamruzzaman, former district BNP Member Secretary Md. Mohiuddin, along with local BNP leaders, activists and a large number of people.

The former state minister died while undergoing treatment in Singapore last Friday at around 2:00 am.

Born on August 18, 1943, in Dohari village under Kolma Union in Louhajong Upazila, Mizanur Rahman Sinha was the son of Hamidur Rahman Sinha. 

He was elected Member of Parliament from the Munshiganj-2 (Louhajong-Sirajdikhan) constituency in 1996 and 2001.
