Fire in Demra ink factory brought under control

DHAKA, Apr 30, 2026 (BSS) - A fire that broke out at a tin-shed ink manufacturing factory in Amulia Model Town area under Demra in the capital this morning has been brought under control after the intense efforts of over two hours.

According to Fire Service media officer Anwarul Islam, the fire brought under total control around 1:55 pm.

The incident was reported at 11:38 am and first units reached the scene by 11:55 am.

Initially, two units from Demra Fire Station started working to douse the flames.

Later, four more units from Siddiqbazar Fire Station and two units from Khilgaon Fire Stations joined, bringing the total to four units that worked to douse the blaze.

The fire was eventually brought under control after joint efforts by the firefighters.

No casualties have been reported so far.

The cause of the fire and the extent of damage could not be immediately determined.
