DHAKA, April 29, 2026 (BSS) - A court has ordered the appointment of an executive magistrate to facilitate a receiver's entry into two locked flats in Gulshan owned by former Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury and to prepare an inventory of the assets and valuables stored inside.

Acting judge of Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Court, Md Alamgir passed the order allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The court on January 12, 2026, appointed an ACC official as receiver to manage the two flats of Saifuzzaman Chowdhury.

The ACC recently filed the plea, saying that as the two flats remained locked, it has not been possible to carry out the receiver's duties, including making them suitable for rent.

"It has therefore been deemed necessary to appoint an executive magistrate to facilitate the receiver's taking possession of the flats and to ensure smooth entry into the premises in the absence of the accused, as well as to prepare an inventory of the assets stored inside without obstruction," the plea added.
