BHOLA, April 7, 2026 (BSS) - Members of the Bangladesh Coast Guard have seized approximately 4,000 liters of illegally transported diesel and arrested a man in a drive conducted in the southern part of the district.
The arrested person was identified as Mamin Miyaji, 45. According to officials, the seized fuel oil is estimated to be worth around Taka 4 lakh.
Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujan confirmed that the operation took place on Monday evening in an area adjacent to Chatkimara Char under Bhola Sadar Police Station.
Acting on confidential information, a special team from Coast Guard Base Bhola carried out the operation at around 4:00 pm.
During the drive, authorities intercepted a boat transporting the diesel illegally and seized the entire consignment.
Following the seizure, the fuel was handed over to the Bhola Sadar Executive Magistrate. The oil was later sold at market price through Rahman & Sons filling station. Additionally, a fine of Taka 50,000 was imposed on the arrested man after which the boat was released.
