DHAKA, April 7, 2026 (BSS) - The Traffic Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 1,691 cases against traffic law violators in different areas of Dhaka.
According to a DMP press release, in the Traffic-Ramna Division, 108 cases were filed involving 3 buses, 2 trucks, 3 covered vans, 19 CNG-run auto-rickshaws, and 43 motorcycles.
The highest number of cases-439-was filed in the Traffic Motijheel Division, involving 27 buses, 2 trucks, 26 covered vans, 116 CNGs, and 209 motorcycles.
This was followed by the Traffic Wari Division with 245 cases, the Traffic Mirpur Division with 231 cases, the Traffic Gulshan Division with 168 cases, and the Traffic Lalbagh Division with 131 cases.
The Traffic-Lalbagh Division also recorded 108 cases, including 15 buses, 8 trucks, 2 covered vans, 11 CNGs, and 42 motorcycles.
In the Traffic-Wari Division, 245 cases were filed, including 28 buses, 24 trucks, 26 covered vans, 22 CNGs, and 80 motorcycles. The Traffic-Tejgaon Division filed 174 cases involving 13 buses, 2 trucks, 8 covered vans, 32 CNGs, and 88 motorcycles.
Meanwhile, the Traffic-Mirpur Division recorded 231 cases, including 5 buses, 3 trucks, 12 covered vans, 27 CNGs, and 138 motorcycles. The Traffic-Uttara Division filed 218 cases involving 26 buses, 12 trucks, 10 covered vans, 42 CNGs, and 75 motorcycles.
In the Traffic-Gulshan Division, 168 cases were filed, including 30 buses, 6 covered vans, 8 CNGs, and 29 motorcycles.
During the drive, a total of 397 vehicles were dumped and 126 vehicles were towed.
Authorities said such operations will continue to ensure traffic discipline in the city.
