DHAKA, Apr 5, 2026 (BSS) - Police from Paltan Model Police Station conducted a day-long special drive across different areas under the thana’s jurisdiction, arresting 24 individuals for their alleged involvement in various criminal activities.

The operation was carried out today as part of intensified efforts by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police to curb crime in the capital. 

According to police sources, those arrested include Fahim Ikram (22), Md Arif (30), Md Anwar Hossain (38), Helal Hossain Bhuiyan (47), Md Delwar Hossain (49), Md Farid (26), Md Sanaullah Khan (48), Md Afsar Uddin Bepari (49), Md Chan Mia (48), Md Khokon (40), Shahin Alam (45), Md Ujjal Mia (38), Md Firoz Pir alias Akash (26), Md Zahidur Rahman Zahid (43), Md Billal Hossain (19), Md Alam (48), Md Ramzan (22), Md Arif (24), Md Delwar Hossain (50), Md Sagar (28), Md Faruk Hossain (40), Md Jamal (36), Sakib (20), and Md Babul Bepari (42).

Police said the detainees were involved in various offences and the operation targeted multiple locations within the Paltan area.

All arrested individuals have been sent to the court for legal proceedings, police added.
