NETROKONA, April 4, 2026 (BSS) - Deputy Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Barrister Kayser Kamal has set a remarkable precedent by donating one month of his salary, equivalent to Taka one lakh, to purchase an Instant Power Supply (IPS) for a school in Kalmakanda, Netrokona, ensuring uninterrupted classes amid frequent power outages.
During a surprise visit to Mukti Pre-Cadet School this morning, the Deputy Speaker responded to parents' appeals regarding disruptions caused by recent electricity failures amid extreme heat.
The school, accommodating over 400 students from playgroup to class eight in two shifts, faced challenges in maintaining regular classes.
Parents, including Ruma Akter, Morium, Pinky Saha, and Rima Akter, requested an IPS to safeguard students' learning.
Hearing their concerns, Kayser Kamal said, "Instead of waiting for authorities, I am personally addressing this issue. I am donating one month's salary-Tk one lakh-to buy a high-quality IPS. Please arrange it promptly for the children."
His prompt and generous action brought joy to parents and locals, who applauded and expressed gratitude.
The school management and teachers also conveyed their sincere thanks for his support.
