CHITTAGONG, Feb 9, 2026 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Director General (DG) Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui today visited several election base camps of the force in Chittagong to oversee the law and order and security situation ahead of the upcoming 13th national parliament election on February 12.
He inspected the election base camp at Raozan Salamat Ullah High School under the Chittagong-6 constituency and Fatikchhari Technical School and College under the Chittagong-2 constituency, said a BGB press release.
During the visit, he exchanged views with BGB members deployed for election duties and provided clear instructions to carry out their responsibilities with professionalism, dedication and complete impartiality.
Siddiqui later held meetings with officials from the local army, police and civil administration to review coordination and preparedness for the election.
He stated that BGB, as a disciplined and politically neutral force, is fully prepared to perform all duties assigned during the election period.
The BGB chief emphasized that the force will work in close coordination with other law enforcement agencies to ensure that voters can cast their ballots in a safe, peaceful and fear-free environment.
Senior officials from BGB Headquarters, the Commander of BGB Chittagong Region and other concerned officials were present during the visit.
