TANGAIL, Jan 29, 2026 (BSS) – Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Central Publicity Secretary and the party’s nominated candidate for Tangail-5 (Sadar) constituency Sultan Salahuddin Tuku held a meeting with journalists at Tangail Press Club auditorium this afternoon.
During the meeting, Tuku sought the support and votes of journalists in favour of the BNP’s electoral symbol, Dhaner Shish (Sheaf of Paddy).
Expressing gratitude, he said journalists have always supported him and the party in various ways and play a vital role in ensuring that accurate information reaches the nation.
“You have always been supporting us in every way. I sincerely thank all the journalist brothers who stand by me. Through you, the country and the nation can know the correct information,” he said.
Seeking votes, Tuku added, “I am asking for your vote in favor of the sheaf of paddy. As a brother, I promise to always stand by you.”
Referring to his future plans for the constituency, he said BNP aims to build a modern Tangail free from terrorism, drugs, extortion, and juvenile gangs.
“We want to build a safe and peaceful Tangail where people of all parties, opinions, religions, and castes can coexist,” he added, calling for cooperation from all sections of society.
Tuku also informed journalists that BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman will visit Tangail on January 31.
According to him, Tarique Rahman will address a public meeting at the Charjana Bypass area of Tangail at 4:00 pm as the chief guest.
He sought the overall cooperation of journalists to ensure the success of the programme.
Highlighting his commitment to journalists, Tuku said that if elected by the people’s vote, he would work sincerely to resolve various problems faced by journalists and ensure that their professional environment remains uninterrupted.
District BNP President Hasanuzzammil Shaheen, former member secretary Mahmudul Haque Sanu, Sadar Upazila BNP President Azgar Ali, Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal convener Khandaker Rashedul Alam Rashed, former district BNP joint secretary Kazi Shafiqur Rahman Liton, along with leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliated organizations, were present at the meeting.
