BOGURA, Jan 28, 2026 (BSS) - A festive atmosphere has gripped in Bogura ahead of the long-awaited arrival of BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman.  

Leaders and activists of the district are eagerly anticipating the chance to see him and hear his address.

Acting General Secretary of Bogura District BNP, Mosharraf Hossain, said Tarique Rahman will visit Bogura following election rallies in Rajshahi and Naogaon on Thursday. On his way to Bogura, he is scheduled to address road rallies in Dupchanchia and Kahalu before speaking at a major public rally at the historic Altafunnesa playground in Bogura town.

“Hearing the BNP Chairman outline the party’s election pledges and future plans directly to the people is extremely significant for Bogura politics,” Mosharraf Hossain said.

According to BNP media cell sources, Tarique Rahman is scheduled to reach Rajshahi at around 12:30 pm on Thursday, where he will participate in a public meeting at the Rajshahi Alia Madrasa ground. In the afternoon, he will attend another public meeting in Naogaon before proceeding to Bogura.

During his visit  to Bogura, Tarique Rahman will address road meetings in Dupchanchia and Kahalu. Upon arrival in Bogura town, he will stay overnight at the four-star Naz Garden Hotel in Chilimpur, which has been specially decorated for his visit.

During his stay in Bogura, he is scheduled to visit Baitur Rahman Central Mosque, Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Children’s Hospital in Dattabari, and the district BNP office.

On the morning of January 30, Tarique Rahman will hold public meetings in the Charmatha, Barpur, and Subgram areas of Bogra town, along with road meetings. He will also offer Jumma prayers at the shrine of Shah Sultan Balkhi (R.A.) in Mahasthangarh, Shibganj, and participate in a road meeting in the Bogura-7 (Gabatoli-Shajahanpur) constituency. Afterward, he will visit his ancestral home in Bagbari, Gabtoli, before returning to the hotel for the night.

On January 31, Tarique Rahman will depart Bogura for Rangpur in the morning.
