DHAKA, Jan 21, 2026 (BSS) - Former state minister for information and former Vice President (VP) of RUCSU Prof Abu Sayeed has joined BNP. 

He formally joined BNP by presenting a bouquet to BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir at the BNP Chairman's office in Gulshan today, according to BNP media cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan. 

Prof Abu Sayeed, who was a member of the Bangladesh Constitution Drafting Committee, served as the Minister of State for Information in the Awami League government in 1996. He was a Member of Parliament from Pabna-1 constituency.
