DHAKA, Jan 20, 2026 (BSS) - The Detective Branch (DB) of police has arrested Evaly managing director (MD) Mohammad Russell and chairman Shamima Nasrin in connection with multiple cases filed against them.
Deputy Commissioner of DB, media, DMP Muhammad Talebur Rahman confirmed their arrests.
A total of 391 arrest warrants have been issued against the two Evaly executives over allegations related to fraud and financial irregularities.
The DB carried out the arrests following ongoing investigations into complaints lodged by customers and businesses.
Law enforcement officials said the duo would be produced before a court, where police are expected to seek further legal action as part of the probe.

Evaly, once a prominent e-commerce platform in Bangladesh, has faced widespread scrutiny after failing to deliver products despite collecting advance payments from customers.
Both Russell and his wife, Nasrin, were earlier released from jail on bail.
