DHAKA, Jan 14, 2026 (BSS) - Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali has raised the outstanding performance of DMP personnel and presented awards to officers of various ranks for their contributions to maintaining law and order, crime control and public safety in the capital.

The awards were handed over at the DMP’s Monthly Crime Review Meeting for December held at the Bangladesh Police Auditorium in Rajarbagh this morning.

Tejgaon Division emerged as the best crime division of DMP for December, while Chawkbazar Police Station was selected as the best police station.

Mohammadpur Zone Assistant Police Commissioner Md. Abdullah Al Mamun was adjudged the best assistant police commissioner.

Among sub-inspectors (SIs), Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station SI Md. Abdul Razzak and Jatrabari Police Station SI Mohiuddin Jewel were jointly selected as the best. 

In the assistant sub-inspector category, ASI Md. Akhtaruzzaman Palash of Jatrabari Police Station and ASI Md. Akhtarul Islam of Mugda Police Station jointly received the top honor.

DB-Lalbagh Division was recognized as the best intelligence unit. Assistant Police Commissioner Enayet Kabir Shoyeb of the Organized Crime, Vehicle Theft Recovery and Prevention Team under DB-Lalbagh Division was named the best team leader.

In the traffic category, Traffic-Gulshan Division was awarded as the best traffic division. Sergeant SM Abdul Aziz of Rampura Traffic Zone and Sergeant Anjum Al Hasib of Mohakhali Traffic Zone were jointly selected as the best traffic sergeants.

The monthly crime review meeting was conducted by Joint Police Commissioner (Crime) Md. Faruk Hossain. 

Additional Police Commissioner (Admin) Md. Sarwar,  Additional Police Commissioner (Crime and Operations) SN Md. Nazrul Islam,  Additional Police Commissioner (Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime) Md. Masud Karim, Additional Police Commissioner (DB) Md. Shafiqul Islam and Additional Police Commissioner (Logistics, Finance and Procurement) Hasan Md. Shawkat Ali, along with joint police commissioners, deputy police commissioners, officers-in-charge of all DMP police stations and police officers of various ranks, were present at the event.
