DHAKA, Jan 14, 2026 (BSS) - As part of the Operation Devil Hunt Phase-2,
police have arrested 67 people during coordinated drives conducted by six
police stations in the capital within the past 24 hours.
The arrests were carried out in different crime-prone areas under Jatrabari,
Mugda, Rupnagar, Hatirjheel, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar and Mirpur Model Police
Stations on Tuesday.
The information was confirmed by Muhammad Talebur Rahman, deputy police
commissioner (Media and Public Relations Division) in Dhaka Metropolitan
Police (DMP).
Among the arrested persons, Mugda Police Station nabbed the highest number of
suspects, totaling 28, while Jatrabari Police Station arrested 17
individuals.
In addition, Rupnagar Police Station arrested eight, Hatirjheel Police
Station arrested eight and Sher-e-Bangla Nagar and Mirpur Model Police
Stations arrested three suspects each.
Police sources said the arrested individuals were involved in various
criminal activities, including old cases and other offenses.
The operations were conducted throughout the day as part of ongoing efforts
to curb crime and ensure public safety in the capital.
All the arrested persons have been sent to the court for further legal
proceedings.
