RANGPUR, Jan 13, 2026 (BSS) - The Detective Branch (DB) of Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP) arrested Naushad Hossain Rubel, also known as "Black Rubel," a listed top terrorist of Rangpur city, from the Motihar area of Rajshahi metropolis early Tuesday.

Deputy Police Commissioner (DB) of RpMP Sanatan Chakraborty confirmed the arrest to BSS this evening.

According to police, the 35-year-old Rubel is considered one of the most notorious criminals in Rangpur metropolis. At least 15 cases have been filed against him under various sections of the Penal Code, including charges related to illegal arms possession, drug trafficking and robbery.

Police said Rubel had long been involved in criminal activities in different parts of the city.

Sanatan Chakraborty said the arrest was made based on intelligence information. Following his arrest, Black Rubel was produced before a Rangpur court in accordance with legal procedures and subsequently sent to jail.
