DHAKA, Jan 13, 2026 (BSS) - Detective Branch (DB) of Police today arrested 
two alleged drug dealers with 10,000 pieces of contraband yaba tablets and 
seized a private car from Paltan area in the city.
 
The arrested were identified as Md Billal Hossain, 45, and Md Al Amin, 28, 
according to a press release issued by the media and public relations 
division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) here.

It said that a team of the DB-Motijheel division under the DMP conducted a 
raid in front of a Car Showroom under Paltan Model Police Station at about 
10:45 pm yesterday and arrested the duo with the contraband drugs.

Police seized a private car from their possession, the DMP release said,
adding, "Legal procedure was underway against the arrested persons."

Based on secret information, the DB-Motijheel division carried out the 
operation. Billal and Al Amin have been collecting yaba tablets from 
different border areas across the country for a long time and selling those 
in various parts of the capital.

A case was filed with Paltan Model Police Station under Narcotics Control Act 
against the arrested persons, the release concluded.
