
DHAKA, Jan 12, 2026 (BSS) - Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen paid a courtesy call on Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman at his office in the capital's Bashundhara area this morning.
The meeting took place at 9:00 am and was held in a warm and cordial atmosphere, said a press release.
During the meeting, the Chinese envoy and the Jamaat Ameer discussed various issues of mutual interest between Bangladesh and China.
They noted that the long-standing friendship between the two countries has been playing a significant role in promoting the welfare of the people of both countries through development cooperation, mutual trade, and cultural exchange.
Both sides expressed optimism that the bilateral relations would be further strengthened in the future.
Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM) Dr Liu Yuyin, Political Director Zhang Jing, Ru Qi (Raki), and Nafisa (Liang Shuiyin) were present with the Chinese Ambassador.
On behalf of Jamaat-e-Islami, Assistant Secretary General and Central Publicity and Media Department Chief Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Zubayer, noted academic Dr Zubayer Ahmed, Development Team Lead Dewan Alamgir, and Foreign Affairs Adviser to the Jamaat Ameer Professor Dr Mahmudul Hasan were also present at the meeting.
