Khulna BNP leaders greet Tarique Rahman on assuming party chairmanship

KHULNA, Jan 10, 2026 (BSS) – Leaders of Khulna city and district units of BNP and the party backed parliament member candidates of all constituencies in the district have greeted Tarique Rahman on assuming office as the chairman of the party.

In a joint statement issued here last night, BNP Khulna City President ShafiqulAlam Mona, General Secretary Shafiqul AlamTuhin, District BNP Convener Md Moniruzzaman Montu and Acting Member Secretary SM Monirul Hasan Bappi expressed their immediate reaction saying they expect Tarique Rahman to lead the nation on the right path with firm and steadfast leadership.

Besides, BNP Information Affairs Secretary Azizul Bari Helal, Student Affair Secretary and MP candidate Khulna -3 Rakibul Islam Bakul, ex-MP and Khulna -2 candidate Nazrul Islam Manzu, Khulna -5 candidate Ali Asgor Loby, Khulna-1 candidate Amir Ezaz Khan and Khulna -6 candidate Monirul Hasan Bappy greeted Tarique Rahman on assuming office as the chairman of the party.

The BNP leaders described Tarique Rahman as the worthy successor of BNP founder and proclaimer of Independence Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia. 

They expressed the hope that under his (Tarique Rahman) leadership, Bangladesh’s independence and sovereignty would be safeguarded and democracy would be restored.
The BNP leaders said Tarique Rahman became the party chief from a primary member of the party, enriching his leadership qualities step by step from the grassroots. 

They expressed confidence that by the will of Almighty Allah, he is prepared to lead not only the BNP but also the country with competence.

They further said the entire nation is looking towards Tarique Rahman, who has been shaped by the ideals of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, to play a pioneering role in building a modern, self-reliant Bangladesh by uniting people of all parties and opinions, hills and plains, religions, ethnicities and professions in a fascism-free environment.

They also expressed the hope that the implementation of his (Tarique Rahman) announced 31-point agenda would help realize a dream Bangladesh for all. His leadership in establishing a discrimination-free state could become a unique model on the global stage, they added.
