DHAKA, Jan 9, 2026 (BSS) - Police have arrested a total of 14 people in day-
long special operations conducted by Mugda Police Station and Sher-e-Bangla 
Nagar Police Station in various areas of the capital.

The arrested individuals are Ainul Hasan (30), Tanvir Hasan alias Abir ,22, 
Md Jisan, 20, Md Sohel, 22, Shraban Hossain, 23, Md Shakib 24, Md Mamun 
Islam, 30, Mohammad Ali ,29, Md Asif,34, Umar Farooq,32, Md Khoka 23, Sabuj, 
28, Kamrul Hasan Shuvo, 23 and Mahmudul Hasan, 26.

According to an official at Mugda Police Station, police conducted special 
drives on Thursday in various areas under its jurisdiction and arrested 10 
people involved in different criminal activities. 

Among them, seven were produced before the Special Magistrate under the Dhaka 
Metropolitan Police Ordinance Act, while three were arrested in regular cases 
and sent to the learned court.

Meanwhile, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station sources said that four people 
were arrested during similar operations carried out on the same day.

The arrested-Md. Khoka, Sabuj, Kamrul Hasan Shuvo and Mahmudul Hasan-were 
sent to the court under the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance Act.

Police officials said such operations will continue to ensure public safety 
and maintain law and order in the capital.
