DHAKA, Jan 06, 2026 (BSS) – The Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested a drug dealer with 14,000 yaba tablets from the Jatrabari area of the city.

The arrestee was identified as Waz Kuruni, alias Sakib, 22. 
Acting on a tip-off, a DB team from the Motijheel division conducted a raid in the Kajla area under Jatrabari Police Station around 11:30 am today and recovered 14,000 yaba tablets form the possession of Sakib, according to a press release.

Sakib has reportedly been sourcing yaba tablets from the Cox’s Bazar area and selling them in various parts of the capital for a long time.

A case has been filed with Jatrabari Police Station under the Narcotics Control Act.
