DHAKA, Jan 04, 2026 (BSS) - The government primary school assistant teacher recruitment exam, which was postponed due to the state mourning programme for the death of three-time former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, will be held on January 9 (Friday) at 3 pm.
Director (Policy and Operations) of the Department of Primary Education AK Mohammad Shamsul Ahsan confirmed this information today.
He said that the written examination for ‘Government Primary School Assistant Teacher Recruitment 2025’ will start at 3 pm on January 9 (Friday). It will continue till 4:30 pm. This examination will be held simultaneously in all districts of the country except the three hill districts, he added.
In a press release, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education said that a three-day state mourning will be observed from December 31, 2025 to January 2, 2026, following the death of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
In tribute to this mourning program, it was decided to postpone the written examination scheduled for January 2.
It is mentionable that special prayers were organized in all mosques of the country and other religious institutions on Friday (January 2) to pray for the eternal peace of Begum Khaleda Zia.
