DHAKA, Jan 4, 2026 (BSS) - A court today imposed a travel ban on Additional Superintendent of Police (Add’l SP) Md. Zakaria Rahman alias Jiku for his alleged involvement in a question-leak syndicate.
Judge Md. Sabbir Fayez of the Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge’s Court issued the order following an application submitted by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC). An ACC inquiry against him is currently underway.
According to the case records and investigation, Syed Abed Ali (Jibon), a former driver of Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) secretariat has been accused of acquiring assets contrary to his known sources of income. During the investigation, ACC found his unusual and suspicious banking transactions between him and several individuals including Add’l SP Md. Zakaria Rahman.
The ACC stated that based on credible information Md. Zakaria Rahman, a government official, was involved with an organized question-leak syndicate and has been attempting to leave the country to flee abroad.
In these circumstances, the ACC in its application said that it is necessary to impose a ban on his foreign travel until the investigation is completed for the interest of ensuring a proper and fair investigation into the case.
